HMS Seahorse, a 24-gun Sixth-Rate, was built at Harwich by John Barnard in 1748. Horatio Nelson joined her as a midshipman under Captain George Farmer while she lay at Spithead in October 1773. She sailed for the East Indies in November, arriving at Madras the following May. We see her here rolling to a heavy swell in the anchorage.
Nelson first tasted action on board the Seahorse and called at several Indian Ocean ports before he was taken ill and transferred to the Dolphin, 24 guns, for passage home in 1776.

PRINTS & PAINTINGS ON PAPER

We use a simple classic frame, gold finish over a black ground, approximately 1 3/4 inches (4.4 cm) in width with off-white acid-free mount 2 1/2 to 3 inches (6.5 - 7.5 cm) wide. Pictures are framed under glass and fitted with wire ready for hanging.
For larger pictures that are to be shipped we can use perspex instead of glass for security in transit - we may contact you to discuss this. Frame example shown above.
