Catch Me Who Can was built in 1814 in Baltimore. At the time, the schooner was one of the fastest ships afloat and she played an important part in the "War of 1812" between the United States of America and the British Empire, which actually was fought from 1812 to 1815.

Catch Me Who Can was generally faster than most of the British ships she came up against and she is shown here in the foreground, neck-and-neck with a British ship which has just put a shot across her bows in warning. Catch Me Who Can was not captured throughout a war in which the Baltimore clippers generally acted as bounty-hunters, chasing down British ships for a reward. The American Navy at the time was small, but the clippers were fast and the American sailors aboard were paid well for their risky heroics during this campaign.

Framing

PRINTS & PAINTINGS ON PAPER 

We use a simple classic frame, gold finish over a black ground, approximately 1 3/4 inches (4.4 cm) in width with off-white acid-free mount 2 1/2 to 3 inches (6.5 - 7.5 cm) wide. Pictures are framed under glass and fitted with wire ready for hanging.

For larger pictures that are to be shipped we can use perspex instead of glass for security in transit - we may contact you to discuss this. Frame example shown above. 

PRINTS & PAINTINGS ON CANVAS

For pictures on canvas we use a simple classic frame with a gold finish and a white slip next to the canvas, approximately 3 1/2 inches (9 cm) in width. Pictures are framed like an oil painting with no glass and fitted with wire ready for hanging. Frame example shown above.
