Prints on canvas are varnished and are signed & numbered by the artist in black ink. Unframed canvas prints are supplied unstretched, rolled in strong cardboard tubes. There is a 2 inch (5 cm) white border around the image.

The cover image of the nineteenth Aubrey/Maturin novel; we see the frigate squadron at night, from left to right: Rainbow, Ganymede, Dover, Briseis and Pomone. In the lead is the immortal Surprise and to the right is the little Ringle.

"Commodore Jack Aubrey, wearing his broad pennant in his favourite ship Surprise, has taken his squadron of frigates from Gibraltar down the North African coast to counter an attack by Moorish corsairs upon a fleet of East Indiamen. The frigates race urgently across a moonlit sea, cleared for action, with battle lanterns lit along their gundecks and the glow showing here and there through open gunports. The Hundred Days refers to the period in which the novel is set: the Emperor Napoleon, escaping from exile on the isle of Elba, runs wild in Europe for a hundred days before meeting the Iron Duke, Wellington, at Waterloo."

Framing

PRINTS & PAINTINGS ON PAPER 

We use a simple classic frame, gold finish over a black ground, approximately 1 3/4 inches (4.4 cm) in width with off-white acid-free mount 2 1/2 to 3 inches (6.5 - 7.5 cm) wide. Pictures are framed under glass and fitted with wire ready for hanging.

For larger pictures that are to be shipped we can use perspex instead of glass for security in transit - we may contact you to discuss this. Frame example shown above. 

PRINTS & PAINTINGS ON CANVAS

For pictures on canvas we use a simple classic frame with a gold finish and a white slip next to the canvas, approximately 3 1/2 inches (9 cm) in width. Pictures are framed like an oil painting with no glass and fitted with wire ready for hanging. Frame example shown above.
