She was built by Henry Tucker in Bideford and commissioned in 1814, spending much of her active service life in Canadian waters. Following this, the \u003ci style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\"\u003ePelter\u003c\/i\u003e had was maintained as a humble unit of the Coast Blockade fleet until her sale for £32 in 1862.
